Rich Tortorigi
Hello,
Thank you for stopping by my corner of the web.
I enjoy playing drums now just as much as I did when I was a kid. I began playing in 3rd grade. I hope you enjoy this sampling of music and visiting my web site.
While attending Berklee my then girl friend said that If I didn't sign up to sit in with Rahsaan Roland Kirk that she was going home without me, so ... the 1st guy (to sit in on sax) was thrown off the stage and verbally humiliated by Mr Kirk (I thought he was pretty damn good) I was next ... I was so afraid of getting chewed up, I wanted to run. A few bars into a blistering fast be bop tune, he turned to me & yelled "Off the bass drum", then about a day later (really about 30 minutes) he asked who I was and said, Lets have a hand for Richie. That was at The Jazz Work Shop Boston.
I've also jammed with Frank Zappa and bassist Jim Fielder of BS&T with Otis Spann on piano at some club in the Village NY, NY. in the middle of the night. It was after Otis Spann's late night Show. In those days the music went till 4am and for some reason we stayed up all night.
I have three wonderful children and three fantastic grand children who have enriched my life beyond measure. Now I am fortunate to be back enjoying the great State of Connecticut and playing drums all over again. I think i'm finally finding my stride.
Getting the Hang of it, I'm finding the groove.
"I feel so blessed to have played with such great musicians and made such good friends in the process"

Bosphorus Cymbals Featured Artist
Bosphorus Cymbals has established in 1996 by three master cymbal smiths, Hasan Seker, Ibrahim Yakici and Hasan Ozdemir. They are called as Masters because they are the most experienced cymbal smiths in the world who are still working actively.
The Masters started to work at a cymbal workshop in 1983 when they were 11-12 years old. Their teachers were Mehmet Tamdeger and Agop Tomurcuk who were also the owners of the workshop. During their service for that company for 16 years, they have learned everything and became master cymbal smiths. Even during that period they were being noticed by the visitors with their fine work. They decided to start their own company after 16 years.
The Masters are still working in the workshop with their employers and guiding them to create the perfect cymbals with their 40+ years of experience.
